The project started in 1993 with the idea to help Gypsy families in the Plovdiv region to get agricultural land from the state and by cultivating it to be able to pay ot and to become its real full-right owners.

The first results in 1995 when more than 200 Gypsy families in 4 villages in the Plovdiv region received land encouraged the Foundation to extend its boundaries.

Now the project  includes activities in two main areas. The first area known under the title "Giving land to the landless", aims to help more Gypsy families who want to cultivate land but do not have sucsh to get agricultural land from the state.

This area includes the following activities:
1. Lobbing with the Central and regional goverments to support the initiative by improving the exisiting legislation and speeding up the process of giving land to the landless.  2. Helping the Gipsy households who do not own land in the Plovdiv region to apply for such and motivating them to do so.

3. Popularising the results achieved and in that way encouraging other Gypsy families to apply.
